Some people are able to grab a Bible and quote verses out of it to support their abuse of their wives and children. I want to tell each and every one of you now; God Does Not condone abuse whether it’s physical, sexual, mental or any other type of abuse. Anyone who thinks God says those behaviors are permissible in the Bible, is twisting things around (pulling passages out of context) to support their criminal and inappropriate behavior!!! They can possibly hide the abuse from others by trying to justify their actions, but they can’t hide it from God.
Because this is an example of how I’ve applied this Bible passage to my life, it doesn't necessarily reflect the whole meaning of the passage.
