It's Impossible for God to Lie, Listening to the Instincts That God Gives Us, and Blind Faith and Taking Risks posts

Since Bible Passages That Can Influence Your Life, is now on line through individual posts, I am now putting several links together for each post. I found groupings of three posts worked well for anyone interested in using these for a Bible study group.  Debbie Seiling

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.  Hebrews, Chapter 6, verse 18.

I just like this passage because it says that it’s impossible for God to lie.  That way I know if it says in the Bible that God will take care of me, He will!

Here are some related passages:
*Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my Helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.  Hebrews, Chapter 13: 5-6.

*The Words of the LORD are pure Words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.  Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.  Psalm, Chapter 12, verses 6-7.

How much more shall the Blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  Hebrews, Chapter 9, verse 14.

I remember referring to God guiding us through our conscience at an earlier point.  I just wanted to include this passage because it supports what I said.  Sometimes I tell people to listen to the instincts that God gives them about things, because He guides us through these.
I’m not sure if the instinct He gives us and our conscience are the exact same thing or not.  What I do know is: God DOES GUIDE US if we listen to Him.  Every time I listen, I have been amazed at how well things turn out.  Every time I didn’t listen, I always remember wishing I had.  Well, this has happened enough times that I don’t want to ignore God when He is guiding me anymore.

The other thing I like about this is that God takes the time for me and my problems on a personal level, when there are millions and billions of people in the world.  If God gives of His time to guide me, then I definitely want to listen!

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  By faith, Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which He condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.  By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.  Hebrews, Chapter 11:6-8.

You really should read all of Hebrews, Chapter 11.  It tells of person after person throughout Biblical history who did the Will of God based on faith alone.  It makes me think about how these accomplishments would never have happened if they hadn’t listened to God because they were worried what their friends and neighbors would think of them.
It makes me wonder if I would be willing to take these same risks if God asked me.  Would I have the blind faith necessary, trusting God would take care of everything?  Hopefully, God would give me the willingness to respond to His requests.  Where would we be right now if Noah had said to God that he wasn’t quite sure whether he should build the ark because he was afraid his friends and neighbors would be talking about him and he didn’t want to risk the embarrassment?  Food for thought!

Because this is an example of how I’ve applied this Bible passage to my life, it doesn't necessarily reflect the whole meaning of the passage.
